Safeguard Medical Announces New Chief Legal & Compliance Officer

Safeguard Medical is pleased to welcome Matt Nolan to our team as Chief Legal and Compliance Officer. Matt brings over 14 years of experience in corporate law, most recently as Vice President & General Counsel of the Applied Solutions Group of The Heico Companies.

He previously spent seven years focused primarily in commercial counseling and compliance law with Dow Corning, including a two-year assignment living in Shanghai as Manager of Ethics & Compliance for Greater China.

Prior to Dow Corning, Matt began his career working in M&A law with Kirkland & Ellis LLP in Chicago, where he now resides with his wife, Nina. Matt has a B.A. in Political Science and History from the University of Michigan, where he was student body president, and a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. He currently serves on the board of the Chicago Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel, a role he previously filled in Michigan and Shanghai, and has also chaired ACC’s Law Department Management Network and its Network Leadership Council. Matt, a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), was recognized as one of ACC’s Top Ten Thirtysomethings earlier this decade, and received First Chair’s Top General Counsel award in 2019.

At Safeguard, Matt will lead our global legal, compliance and ethics programs, and will coordinate the efforts of Safeguard’s external legal partners. He is excited to join our experienced leadership team and anxious to invest himself in our purpose and mission of providing life-saving products and training programs.
