Justina Sklodowski I’ve had a love for animals and a passion for helping others for as long as I can remember. My Dad has been in the Fire Service for thirty years, so I practically grew up in the fire department; very early on in life, I knew that I wanted to follow in his footsteps. So in 2011, I did just that by becoming a firefighter myself. I was also fortunate enough to work as a Veterinary Technician for an equine ambulatory veterinarian, and later, I got involved in K9 Search and Rescue with my dog, Duke. Duke and I love being out and about together, and when we’re not on the job, you can find us going on hikes in the great outdoors! I’ve undertaken many qualifications to perform each role with professional experience as an Interior Firefighter, Vehicle Rescue Technician, Certified K9 Medical Operator, and Veterinary Technician. From HAZMAT Operations to CPR/First Aid, RIT (Rapid Intervention Team), and TECC, along with Water & Cliff Rescue certifications, I enjoy learning and seek opportunities to develop my skillset wherever I can. Now that I’m no longer an active firefighter, my role here offers me the ability to continue to save lives by using my experiences to support the efforts of First Responders and provide developmental training and the best products for the job into their hands. The mission of Safeguard Medical directly aligns with my calling. Working here as a member of such a supportive team provides me with opportunities to put all my experience in one place, working directly with First Responders and K9. While I’m no longer on the front line, the value I bring through the products we sell has helped me grow, both personally and professionally, and I’m grateful for all the relationships I’ve built in the process. The mission of Safeguard Medical directly aligns with my calling. Working here as a member of such a supportive team provides me with opportunities to put all my experience in one place
