SIMBODIES App The SIMBODIES App. Elevate your medical simulation training to create the ultimate hyper-realistic scenarios. In the App, you will find a selection of pre-recorded voices for your manikin to fit a variety of interventions/scenarios. Connect with the SIMBODIES manikin Bluetooth speaker (installed in your adult male/female, child, or infant manikin), select the simulation pathway and injury – and begin training! The ‘Incidental Sounds’ can be played to form reactions and responses from the patient during simulated training. There is also ‘Background Sound’, which plays automatically on a loop until stopped; these include different breathing patterns, snoring, and vomiting. Our App also features a microphone tool that allows the operator to actively participate in the training and adapt the session storyboard in real-time. Frequently asked questions Is the app free? Yes, if your device has Bluetooth connectivity and the speaker is turned on, you can use the App accordingly. When recording my own sounds, are they stored or kept on a database? No, the sounds the user/instructor records live using the record feature will play instantly. This feature allows the instructor to communicate live and customize their responses. Once played, the recorded sounds are deleted. How do I connect to the Bluetooth Speaker? Connect to the speaker as normal through the settings on your device. You can also refer to the instructions manual. How do I find the speaker in my SIMBODIES Manikin? If your Manikin has a speaker included in its features, it can be located at the top of the spine/base of the neck. Microphone Settings The microphone function can be operated in two different ways. Change your selection in the Settings menu found at the lower left-hand side of the app. ‘Push-to-talk’ function: this option is the default setting. This function works by the operator pressing and holding the microphone icon and talking into the app device. Once the button is released, the audio is played via the Bluetooth speaker. Instant talk function: this option is selected in Settings. This function allows audio to be played instantly via the speaker in real time. If used with the operator too close to the Bluetooth speaker, some noise feedback may occur; end this by moving away and extending proximity from the speaker. If you do not have a User Guide, you can request one here: Pairing your speaker Pair your SIMBODIES speakers the same way as any other Bluetooth device. You must complete the following actions for the initial set-up: Close and open settings Close the SIMBODIES App Open Settings/Bluetooth Press and hold power button Press and hold the power button on your Simbodies Speaker until you hear the power-on sound chime. Tap to pair speaker After a few moments the “EWA Audio A106Pro” appear in the ‘other devices’ section. Tap on this to pair the speaker. Audio Routing When you connect your SIMBODIES speakers, audio should be routed to it automatically. If it is not, or if you want to select another speaker tap on the airplay icon. Then select the speaker you would like to send audio to. Push-to-talk Settings By default, push to talk starts recording audio when you hold your finger on the push-to-talk button and plays it when you raise your finger. You can play audio instantly, but this may lead to feedback if you are close to the SIMBODIES speaker. Use the switch to turn-on instant talk.
