Senior Cost Analyst Location Huntersville, NC, United States Job Summary The Senior Cost Analyst will be responsible for preparing, maintaining, reconciling and analyzing financial information on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, including the performance of or assistance with a variety of assigned balance sheet reconciliations including the timely resolution of reconciling items. S/He is responsible for rolling new part number standard costs during the year and assisting in developing the annual standard cost role. S/He is responsible for recording financial and statistical journal entries and providing a variety of reports as necessary. S/He must be knowledgeable with US GAAP. S/He will support the organization acquisition and growth plans. This is a full time onsite role in Harrisburg, NC until early 2024 when the position will be located in our brand new Huntersville, NC facility. Essential Job Functions • Roll standard costs, understand BOM’s and routings, actively on the manufacturing floor, participate in Kaizen events, understand the process flow on the manufacturing floor, learn warehouse issues and participate in improvement projects, actively involved in the annual physical inventory, actively involved in the new cycle count program and reporting results, with the goal of eliminating future physical inventories. Provide analytical support to management teams. Responsible for monthly financial close process and preparation of explanations for financial statements and reports. Analyze and explain purchase price and production variances. Audit cycle counts in the warehouse. Manage standard cost and manufacturing account system. Continuously evaluate plant and finance processes to ensure compliance with GAAP and look for improvement opportunities. Prepare monthly journal entries, including documentation and calculations. Perform balance sheet reconciliations and analyses including and follow up and resolve outstanding variances or issues. Assist with audits as requested. Support the organization acquisition and growth plans. Develop and understanding of the D365 ERP system. Participate in special projects as necessary. Requirements Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent analytical degree required. 5+ years progressive experience in Accounting required. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred. Working knowledge and experience with an accounting software system required. Advanced Excel Skills, and high level of systems proficiency required. Ability to observe a process and understand the potential issue and suggest solutions. Able to work well with others. Physical Requirements Performing the duties of this job regularly involves sitting, standing, walking, hearing/listening, repetitive hand movement, grasping and reaching. Vision requirements include the ability for close vision, and to adjust focus. Ability to pickup 40 pounds and capability to work on their feet for prolonged periods of time within a warehouse environment. Other Requirements At period end (quarter, annual) hours and days may be extended to accommodate deadlines. Limited travel occasionally.
